On October 20, 2011, the project Nansen model for integrated education was officially launched in the MPS “Rajko Zhinzifov”, Municipality of Cair, Skopje. This school is the fifth on which the Nansen Dialogue Center Skopje implements this project, at the same time the first municipality in the city of Skopje.
The project is supported by the Mayor of the Municipality of Cair and the Municipal Council which approved the allocation of funds from the municipal budget for the needs of the project. The agreement for cooperation between the Nansen Dialogue Center Skopje and the Municipality of Cair was signed on August 3, 2011.
After signing the Agreement, NDC Skopje in cooperation with the school management and the expert groups, has made a selection of teachers, who will carry out the integrated extracurricular activities, whereas the Team for education, training and development at NDC Skopje has realized several trainings on the topic “Characteristics of the integrated extracurricular activities”.
In September 2011, the Project has been presented to the parents of the students (Macedonians and Albanians) and NDC Skopje has received the necessary support for including the students in the Project and start with its realization.
Within the project, two classes of students are included with a total number of 49 students, from which 27 follow the regular teaching process in Albanian language, and 22 students in Macedonian language. The regular teaching is carried out in two classrooms in three shifts.
The integrated extracurricular activities are implemented by two teachers, one Albanian and one Macedonian. The integrated activities are being carried out four times a week, through two different sections (Eco and Art section), in duration of 45 minutes.
There are three different programs running in the school: one is intended for the students, the others are intended for their parents and teachers.
The Team of NDC Skopje is monitoring the activities on a daily basis and is providing expert support to the teachers, students and parents during the implementation of the Project “Nansen model for integrated education”. |
